Terms of Service

The Platform is intended solely for users who are at least 18 years old. By using the Platform you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are under 18, you must not create an account or otherwise access the Platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone under 18. Misrepresenting your age is a material breach of these Terms.

3.1 Account creation. To use most of the Platform, you need an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your password confidential.

3.2 Account security. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

3.3 Account restrictions. You may not sell, transfer, or share your account, or create additional accounts to evade a suspension or ban.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for non-commercial purposes. You may not sublicense, reverse-engineer, scrape, or build a competing service from the Platform, and we may suspend or modify access at any time for maintenance, safety, or legal reasons.

5.1 Your content. "User Content" means anything you create, upload, or submit — character definitions, avatars, banners, bios, guestbook entries, comments, custom profile CSS, and chat messages you send. You retain ownership of your User Content.

5.2 License to ShikuAI. By submitting User Content, you grant ShikuAI a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process it as needed to operate and improve the Platform (for example, generating an AI reply to your message, or rendering your character's card in the feed).

5.3 Content responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content and for making sure it complies with these Terms and our Content Guidelines.

5.4 Avatar, banner, and image uploads. Every image uploaded to the Platform — character art, avatars, and banners alike — is automatically screened by an image classifier before it is stored. Uploads flagged as explicit content are rejected immediately and never saved. Automated screening is a filter, not a guarantee — see our Safety page for how human review fits in.

5.5 Custom profile CSS. If you use the custom CSS feature on your profile, your stylesheet is validated and scoped to your own profile container before it's applied — it can never affect any other page or any other user's profile. Submitting CSS that attempts to bypass this sandboxing is a violation of these Terms.

The full list of what is and isn't allowed on ShikuAI — including our zero-tolerance child-safety policy, rules for Limited vs. Limitless characters, and everything else that governs characters, roleplay, images, and comments — lives in our Content Guidelines, which are part of these Terms. Violating them may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination, at our discretion and without notice for serious violations.

7.1 ShikuAI property. The Platform itself — its design, code, logos, and branding — is owned by ShikuAI and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to it beyond the limited license in Section 4.

7.2 Infringement reports. We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the content and your claim.

8.1 Credits. Chatting with characters costs credits. You can earn credits through the daily claim, or purchase credit packs for a one-time price. Credits never expire.

8.2 Shiku+ subscription. Shiku+ is an optional recurring subscription that unlocks cosmetic and profile-customization features. It renews automatically each month until cancelled and is billed and processed by Stripe, our payment processor — we never store your full card details ourselves.

8.3 Cancellation. You can cancel Shiku+ at any time from the billing portal linked in Settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current billing period.

8.4 Price changes. We may change credit pack or subscription pricing going forward. Changes won't apply to a period you've already paid for.

Credit purchases and subscription payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where a payment was clearly defective (for example, a duplicate charge or a purchase that never delivered its credits). If something looks wrong with a charge, contact [email protected] and we'll look into it. This section doesn't limit any statutory consumer-protection rights you may have.

10.1 By you. You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time from Settings.

10.2 By ShikuAI. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for violating these Terms, our Content Guidelines, or applicable law — especially for anything touching child safety, which is handled immediately and without warning.

10.3 Effect. On termination, your right to access the Platform ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute resolution) continue to apply.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Character replies are generated by AI models and may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or in-character in ways that don't reflect real facts or advice — nothing a character says is factual guidance, medical, legal, or financial advice. We don't guarantee the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShikuAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

If a dispute arises, contact us first at [email protected] — most issues can be resolved directly. These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law says otherwise.

14.1 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page; continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept it.

14.2 Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

14.3 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Content Guidelines and Safety policies, are the entire agreement between you and ShikuAI regarding the Platform.

We do not allow illegal content on ShikuAI, and we take reports of it seriously. Every character page has a report action, and reports are reviewed by our team. For how detection, review, and appeals actually work, see our Safety page.
